Four Pillars wanted to create a gin specifically designed for the Negroni – a distillate that could effortlessly stand its ground against Campari and vermouth. As the Negroni has always been very popular at Four Pillars, distiller Cameron MacKenzie seized the opportunity to launch the first creation in their Bartender Series – a tribute to the idea of a perfectly balanced cocktail.
First, they modified the recipe of their standard botanicals, increasing the proportions of Tasmanian pepperberry leaves and cinnamon. Then, they enriched the blend with an exotic West African spice called Grains of Paradise.
This spice is one of the most extraordinary in the world, characterized by subtle notes of cloves and Szechuan. Despite its intensity, it develops a warm glow rather than dominating with sharpness.
Additionally, they decided to complement the Botanical Basket with organic blood oranges and a pinch of ginger.
