Galway Pipe Rare Tawny Aged 25 Years 18.5% vol.
Galway Pipe is named after Sir Henry Galway, Governor of South Australia from 1914 to 1920.
With its long history and excellent reputation, the name Galway Pipe is synonymous with premium Australian fortified wine. Our 25-year-old wine is an exceptional top-tier product with incomparable structure and depth, using strictly limited quantities of aged Tawny, some of which are over 25 years old. Only 1,000 cases are produced annually.
This wine, which has been fermented and aged in oak barrels for an average of 25 years, has a deep tawny-red color. It captivates with a multi-layered aroma of raisins, roasted nuts, and fruitcake. On the palate, it is characterized by a rich and complex variety of flavors with distinct notes of caramelized toffee, dried fruits, and vanilla oak, finishing with immense length and intensity.
The Galway 25 YO Rare Tawny project has been developed over many years and draws on our extensive selection of rare batches and barrels. Since 2012, the program in our cellars has aimed to preserve our best older components and allow the wine to mature further over many years to achieve a Tawny with even greater complexity and richness. We want to offer our customers the highest quality product we can produce – Chief Winemaker Chris Dix
The decorative label pattern is a tribute to Sir Henry Galway's military uniform and symbolizes his legacy of high standards for superior quality.
