Australia's beloved sauce was born in 1906 when the W. C. Douglass company, a food wholesaler based in Sydney, began producing Fountain Tomato Sauce at its factories in Goodlet Street, Surry Hills, NSW.
The growing popularity of Fountain Tomato Sauce was fueled in the 1950s and 1960s with the introduction of the Variety range in the iconic Poodle bottle, which can still be found on supermarket shelves today. In 1964, Cerebos acquired W. C. Douglass.
The commitment to quality and pride in our product remained unchanged. Even today, Fountain is proud of its reputation for experimenting with flavors and complementing all kinds of meals.
