The Kangaroo Island O'Gin was awarded best gin in the Contemporary Gins category at the prestigious International Wine and Spirits Competition in London in 2019.
It is the first time an Australian gin has won this Oscar of the gin scene.

KIS founders Jon and Sarah Lark were originally inspired to make gin that reflected the fantastic landscape of Kangaroo Island where they live.
Their O'Gin does just that. Its character is largely influenced by the infusion of the coastal daisy bush (Olearia axillaris).
Jon and Sarah came to know its scent as they walked through the dunes to the pristine beaches of Kangaroo Island on hot summer days.
The essential oils of this plant are both pine-like and sweet with notes of tropical fruits.
In the O'Gin, it harmonizes very well with stronger juniper and is spiced with Asian cubeb pepper and balanced with a belt of fresh South Australian orange.
The strong and hearty O'Gin is often preferred by experienced gin drinkers as a base for almost any cocktail and is ideal for a martini.

KIS is one of Australia's first gin distilleries, founded on Kangaroo Island. Since then, the distillery has built a reputation as one of Australia's best gin distilleries and has won numerous awards at the world's best competitions, including the International Wine and Spirits Competition in London and the SIP Awards in California.
